What does it do?

Argus AppControl is application execution trust and control: executable inventory, signer/publisher trust evaluation, hash and signature rules, and audit/enforce policy modes. It runs as a capability module of the existing ARGUS agent; the default mode is Audit and no fake enforcement is performed.

Expected outcome

Outcome: the application execution surface gains trust; policy becomes versioned and traceable.

What problems does it solve?

Risk of unauthorized / unsigned application execution

No executable inventory or signer information

Allowlist policy without version or drift control

No safe transition between audit and enforce

What is the product strength?

Shared ARGUS agent · capability module

Executable inventory · SHA-256 · signer · publisher

Policy engine · hash / signature / publisher rules

Policy version · agent ACK · drift

Audit / Enforce mode · central Finding & Risk

Where is it most effective?

01

Critical servers and fixed-function endpoints

02

Restricting unsigned application execution

03

Starting in audit and moving to controlled enforce

04

Combining software inventory with SAM

Architecture

Argus AppControl runs as a capability module of the existing ARGUS endpoint agent — there is no separate agent. The agent reports executable inventory (SHA-256, signer, publisher, signature state) and execution observations to the API; policy evaluation applies hash/signer/publisher rules. Policy is versioned, agent ACKs are tracked, and drift is reported. The default mode is Audit; Enforce applies only where the agent/OS supports it and is explicitly enabled. Findings land on the central Finding pipeline.
