What does it do?

Argus File Integrity is file, registry, and configuration integrity monitoring: critical-path baselines, created/modified/deleted/renamed events, maintenance-window context, and sensitive-content redaction. It runs as a capability module of the existing ARGUS agent; actor attribution is added only where observable.

Expected outcome

Outcome: critical changes are caught early, audit evidence is produced, and sensitive content is protected.

What problems does it solve?

Critical file and configuration changes noticed too late

Registry and config integrity not monitored

No knowledge of whether a change was inside a maintenance window

Sensitive content leaking into logs

What is the product strength?

Shared ARGUS agent · capability module

Critical-path baseline · file SHA-256

Change detection · create/modify/delete/rename

Registry & configuration · maintenance window

Actor attribution (where observable) · central Finding

Where is it most effective?

01

Compliance / PCI-DSS audits (file integrity)

02

Critical servers and configuration files

03

Windows registry change tracking

04

Alerts for changes outside maintenance windows

Capabilities

File monitoring

Critical paths and SHA-256 baselines.

Registry & config

Windows registry and configuration change.

Actor & redaction

Process attribution and sensitive-content masking.

Architecture

Argus File Integrity runs as a capability module of the existing ARGUS endpoint agent — there is no separate agent. It establishes file/SHA-256 baselines for critical paths and detects created, modified, deleted, renamed, permission/owner changes (where observable), and Windows registry/configuration changes. Actor/process attribution is added where observable and explicitly marked “unknown” otherwise. Maintenance-window context and sensitive-content redaction are enforced server-side; findings land on the central pipeline.
